ShopRite of Rio Grande is proud to participate in the ShopRite Partners in Caring Program to help fight hunger in your local community.  With the help of our generous shoppers we were able to donate $10,000 in 2017 to the following local organizations:

  • Caring For Kids
  • Community Food Closet
  • Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro
  • Family Success Center
  • Holy Redeemer Visiting Nurses
  • Seaside Haven
  • St. Raymond Church

Food Rescue Totals

ShopRite of Rio Grande is proud to participate in the Village Food Rescue Program. This program salvages food from our store that is safe for consumption but is ineligible for retail sale. In 2017 we were able to donate 83,386 pounds to the Community

ShopRite of Rio Grande is proud to participate in the Village Food Rescue Program. This program salvages food from our store that is safe for consumption but is ineligible for retail sale. In 2017 we were able to donate 83,386 pounds to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to help address the critical needs for fresh and healthy foods.

Edible cookie dough is all the rage. Head on into the kitchen and whip up a delicious dessert that is perfect for a cozy weekend at home.

Edible Cookie Dough

Ingredients
1 15-oz. can Wholesome Pantry garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup favorite nut or seed butter, like Wholesome Pantry cashew or Wholesome Pantry sunflower seed butter
1 tbsp vanilla
3 tbsp Wholesome Pantry applesauce or honey
1 tsp Wholesome Pantry maple syrup (optional)
2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

Directions
Combine all ingredients except the maple syrup and chocolate chips in a food processor and blend until thick and creamy and resembles cookie dough. Taste and add additional maple syrup if needed. Fold in chocolate chips and serve!
